REVIEW: Zinburger, Lenox Mall, Buckhead, Atlanta

I would never even known of Zinburger, except for social media postings and a strong recommendation from my friend and Atlanta foodie Twitter celebrity @sashaeats. In a town where burger places, even gourmet burger places, grow like kudzu; Zinburger provides distinction in this crowded foodie genre.

Zinburger has a comfortable and contemporary setting in an open floor plan that is inviting and welcoming. The outside seating area, centered around a natural gas fire pit, provides an ideal setting for mingling after your meal.

Service is prompt and you won’t wait for your food. When we ordered, our server asked if we wanted our fries out first. I thought we’d nibble a little on the fries and then have the rest with the meal. Fat chance! This fries never met our burgers.

Melanie chose the Zucchini Fries that come with a dusting of parmesan and ranch sauce for dipping. I opted for the Spicy Green Chili Fries. They have a little kick to them as you might expect, but it’s not as powerful as you might think. There are tiny bits of roasted jalapeño, some chipotle sauce, and its covered with green chili cheese sauce. Delicious.

Melanie chose the Kobe burger, while @sashaeats had recommended the “Chuck Norris” which is not even listed on the menu. Served on a bed of coleslaw, this Kobe cheeseburger is served with BBQ sauce, stacked with onion rings, and served on a toasted bun. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the Kobe beef never disappoints. I had to eat the onion rings alone, just to get this beast into my mouth. Its drippy and a bloody mess, but sheer goodness.

Zinburger is everything we love about gourmet burgers and none of what we dislike. Excellent table service, prompt food delivery, and dynamite food make Zinburger a solid choice for burgers in the ATL. Guten appetit!
