REVIEW: Peachtree Café, Lawrenceville, Gwinnett
Every once in awhile, we reach into our treasure bag and pull out a restaurant to share with our readers. Today we share a restaurant that has grown near and dear to our hearts, Peachtree Café. We first began a few years ago, eating brunch here after church. Since then we’ve eaten lunch and breakfasts during the week. Each time, Victor and his crew always serve up something nice for us.
This particular morning, I had an appointment in Lawrenceville and was about a half hour early so I decided to get myself a proper breakfast since I have become far too accustomed to eating in the car. Cars are for driving, not for dining. By the way, my detail guy hates me.
Peachtree Café is not an in-town, trendy, urban hipster spot. There’s nothing fancy about the décor or the menu. There’s no surprises here and that’s one of the things that we love about it – the predictability factor. It serves up great tasting, traditional food accompanied with some really super service.
I got started with coffee and orange juice. I ordered a sausage and cheddar omelet with home fries and grits. The omelet was perfectly done, not too dry and oozing cheese out of every pore. The home fries, are some of the best breakfast potatoes you’ll ever put into your mouth, largely due to the generous seasoning of peppers and onions. My grits were excellent too, with no lumps to be found while still maintaining the granularity that make it grits. A little salt and pepper, we’re good to go.
Peachtree Café is a solid choice for a great breakfast and comfortable for gathering with friends, family, or clients. Its one of our favorite spots and I bet it will be one of yours too. Guten appetit!
