Everyone is Irish on Saint Patrick’s Day, and one of the best places in Midtown Atlanta to celebrate is Yard House at Atlantic Station. When we arrived, we found some coveted street parking. If you haven’t been and aren’t familiar with Parkmobile, you really need to get this app for your phone. I just scanned the QR code on the parking meter, set how much time I needed and it was done! Just enter your tag number and payment information when you signup with Parkmobile. You’ll be ready to park at Atlantic Station, Ponce City Market, and places all over the ATL.

We chose Yard House on this occasion, even though we did have to wait a short while to be seated. The house was packed as St. Paddy’s revilers filled the restaurant. Everywhere you looked people were dressed in green and having a great time. We had just gotten seated, when I spotted a guy all dressed up for the occasion. I flagged him down and asked if I could take his picture. Afterwards, I gave him a card and told him I was going to post his picture on the Atlanta Food Critic website. He agreed and went back to his friends. I looked over and all the other people were just as dressed up for the occasion as he was, so I had to take a picture of the whole crew.

We got started with some Lobster, Crab, and Artichoke Dip along with an order of Shrimp Ceviche. The dip is served extremely hot and tastes delicious while the Shrimp Ceviche is cold, of course. The two flavors and temperatures complement each other well and was a wonderful beginning to our meal.

Melanie ordered the Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and a side salad. I went with the Fish and Chips, but substituted a side salad for my fries. The fried chicken was done nicely and the potatoes were seasoned well. Melanie really enjoyed her dressing.

I couldn’t believe the size of the fish portions! Not only were they quite large, but here were also four of them. I was in heaven but couldn’t finish off but three of them. I didn’t even touch the salad, so that ended up in our to-go box also. My Apple Watch notified me our Parkmobile session was expiring and it was time to leave.

It was a great night to visit Yard House and watch how they work under pressure. Certainly one of their busier nights, the team at Yard House performed wonderfully. Our server was spot-on every step of the way and the food exceeded our expectations. This is a place we’ll come back to! Guten appetit!

Check out where we went to after dinner!
