PSA: Earth Fare: Grand Opening Dec 9 at The Collection at Forsyth, Cumming – Online Contest Giveaway

tomatoes-2-earth-fare-cummingWhen foodies die and go to heaven, I’m guessing that their welcome tour is much like the pre-opening tour of the Earth Fare we attended recently. Located at the swanky Collection at Forsyth, Earth Fare is set to open it’s third store in Atlanta on Wednesday morning Dec 9 at 7am. (Check out their Facebook Event page for more info) They are doing it in style with gift cards to the first 500 shoppers in varying amount up to $500 along with plenty of food to sample, tote bag giveaways and live music. The new store features a Wi-Fi-equipped cafe, an organic juice and smoothie bar, salad bar, antipasta bar,  a deli sandwich counter; and lots of to-go options like pizza and sushi.

We were fortunate to be able to get a sneak peek inside this new 23,000 sq ft. store days before it opened to the general public and received a guided tour by Laurie Aker, Spokesperson for Earth Fare. The store is smaller than a big chain grocery store but that’s typical with these specialty grocery store. Personally I like the smaller stores because they’re easier to get in and out of quickly. During the tour we had an opportunity to sample some of the Earth Fare branded products and I would have to admit that they are a step above the typical store name quality foods. Overall, I felt like Earth Fare provided premium brands at prices less than other specialty grocers.

If you leave and don’t understand anything else about Earth Fare, the main takeaway is their stuff is healthy. Earth Fare is an authentic natural and organic grocery store, in fact the claim to fame is that you don’t even need to read the labels because they’ve done it already.

When you enter an Earth Fare, you’ll see their quality standards posted – no added hormones, no artificial fats or trans-fats, no artificial sweeteners, no bleached or bromated flours, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial preservatives and no artificial colors or flavors. They also maintain a “boot list” of banned items from their store. Earth Fare believes so strongly in the Earth Fare Food Philosophy, if you find an item in the store that doesn’t meet these guidelines, let them know and they’ll give it the boot AND give you a $50 gift card for letting them know.

One thing that pops out at you when you walk around an Earth Fare, you’ll be able to easily identify organic and gluten-free products. Not only is it clearly labeled, I would also say that it’s promoted to be easily recognizable. I know this is an important plus for many of our readers.

Another thing that is really cool about Earth Fare is they locally source many of their products within a 100 mile radius of the store. Not only does this help the local economy in the community but it also cuts transportation costs and brings consumers the freshest products faster.

Whether you’re shopping for cooking at home or looking for a quick take-home meal that’s healthy and nutritious, Earth Fare is your kind of store! Guten appetit!
