#PassTheJoy: Can a Holiday Recipe that’s Healthy and Organic Be This Delicious? You Bet Your Jingle Bells!

It seems during the holidays, especially at family gatherings, caution is thrown to the wind when it comes to watching what we eat. Most people enjoy their feast in utter oblivion to the carnage they lay waste to their diet. I think the hardest part for many of us is not the meal itself, it’s after the meal – the dessert. When you’re gathered with your family and friends, who really wants to be that person to not have any dessert. Especially when we see our relatives attempting to sample each one of the many desserts laid before them.

When Sprouts offered members of the Atlanta Food Bloggers Society a chance to create and post a holiday recipe, we jumped at the chance to make a healthy dessert. With the fresh, natural and organic products from Sprouts we had a good start. Our recipe was simple – mix the ingredients together and bake for 30-40 minutes.

The result is an Almond Pound Cake that is delicious! Healthy goodness awaits you!

The finished product – Almond Pound Cake!

Almond Flour 1 3/4 cups
Equal Powder 1/4 cup
Baking Powder 1 tsp
Eggs, Organic (4)
Cream Cheese 4 oz
Vanilla Extract 3 tsp
Salt 1/4 tsp
Butter, Softened 4 Tbsp

Purée organic strawberries so they’re still chunky. Add cool whip and then drizzle the purée on top to your liking. You’ll love it! Guten appetit!

Sounds delicious! I am not so sure the Cool Whip is a healthy option, but whipped coconut cream with stevia would be the perfect topping! Thank you for all of your wonderful posts!

You lost me with the Equal. All that organic goodness and you are going to sweeten with CHEMICALS??? Do you just buy organics because they cost more and you can afford them?

We’re trying to avoid sugar. Do you have a good alternative?
