REVIEW: Big City Bread Café, Athens
The first thing we noticed about Big City Bread Café is that its not on a main drag or in the downtown district. In fact, although its within walking distance of downtown Athens, you really have to know where it is in order to find it. In this case however, such a thing does not detract from success.
Our visit to Big City Bread Café came between seeing Angie Tillman over at Phickles Phun Foods and our way to watch the Gwinnett Braves play baseball. It was the first time for us to try a quick sandwich at Big City Bread Café and we walked up to the counter to order.
The café is spacious with plenty of booths and tables to choose from. They have a good selection on the menu and I quickly settled on the Rainbow Trout Sandwich. Melanie chose the Grilled Cheese on wheat with tomato. I got a bag of Sea Salt & Vinegar chips while Melanie went with the French Fries.
The food hit the spot and tasted delicious. The Rainbow Trout was done perfectly. The tomatoes on both my sandwich and Melanie’s Grilled Cheese, were hearty, fresh and tasted great. Melanie thought the fries were THE BEST ever!
When in Athens, we suggest you venture off the beaten path and find your way to Big City Bread Cafe! Guten appetit!
