Vinings Inn Restaurant, Vinings, Atlanta, GA
The Vinings Inn is a rich piece of Atlanta history with a tradition of fine dining and garnering such a reputation meant we were just dying to try it out. This beautiful fall afternoon proved to be the perfect occasion.
Hospitality abounded from the moment we arrived. Unbeknownst to me, the parking lot is valet only but the nice gentleman told me that it was okay and to enjoy my meal. I felt good about this place from the very beginning.
We were seated right away and had our drinks quickly. Kris, our server, took wonderful care of us throughout the meal. We were offered to sit on the patio but it was quite warm so we chose to sit inside and it was very comfortable.
The Vinings Inn is a historic building within the tiny village of Vinings. For those of you who may not be familiar with this upscale hamlet of our fine city, you simply must take some time to visit.
I ordered the Blackened Catfish Sandwich and Melanie ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Both were served on a grilled ciabatta bun accompanied by fries. The sauce with my catfish was rémoulade and honey mustard came with the grilled chicken but Melanie did not care for that and used some of my rémoulade instead.
The meal was wonderful and the service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The only thing we could recommend is to get rid of the “frozen bag” fries and make homemade fries. There was nothing wrong with them – they were just fries. Everything else was over the top, why shouldn’t the fries be as well?. I might also add, Vinings Inn was an excellent value.
We have to say that Vinings Inn is a MUST SEE on your list of Atlanta fine dining. Guten appetit!
