Atlanta Restaurant Reviews

La Luna, Winder GA

La Luna is a new restaurant on Hwy 81 just south of Winder. It’s distinctive, upscale building and decor set it apart from other Mexican restaurants in that area. We’ve passed by occasionally driving through and have been wanting to stop and see what they have to offer and this beautiful Saturday afternoon was our time.

When we arrived, the place was practically empty – maybe the people of Barrow country have yet to discover this place? We chose to sit on the patio and enjoy the gorgeous fall weather. The seating was comfortable and we enjoyed having our privacy.

We started out with a carne queso, cheese with meat, which tasted great but we found a little soupy. Both of us was expecting that it would be thicker.

I ordered my usual at a Mexican restaurant, the Speedy Gonzales. Melanie tried the Fajita Quesadilla. Both were very good although we did battle the flies on the patio when the food started coming. We tried turning on the ceiling fans but these guys could’ve flown through a hurricane.

All in all, the meal was great, the service was adequate and La Luna is a MUST TRY if you happen to be around Winder.
